Because Theatre is Company.

What started as a Facebook group for theatre lovers is now London’s award-winning social theatre platform, with 700+ members and counting.

A former actor who just wanted to find his people.

Having worked as an actor for 15 years, outside of being onstage, Adam found himself going to theatre on his own and wanted change: genuine friendships, not just nights out. So he organised a small theatre trip through a Facebook group. Eight people came. Then twelve. Then fifty.

By 2022, West End Outings had its own membership platform, offering discounted tickets bundled with pre-show meetups and welcome drinks. The mission hasn’t changed: help people make real friends through a shared love of theatre whilst saving money on top price tickets too.

In 2024, Adam joined the Association for Group Travel Organisers (AGTO) and is one of their youngest members bringing fresh ideas to the industry and paving the way for the next generation.

Meet the team

The people behind your night out. West End Outings started with one former actor who wanted theatre to feel less like a solo trip and more like a night with friends, and the team’s been building on that ever since.

The West End knows us by name

From Palladium stars to the theatres and bars that host us — here’s what people say about a night out with West End Outings.

Such a wonderful idea…

“It’s always a great night when west end outings come to the show. Such a fun group of people, evidently all having a brilliant time and they are an absolute pleasure to chat to after the show. Such a wonderful idea to bring people together like this.”
Kate Graham
Actor, Mamma Mia West End

It’s a community in and of itself!

“West End Outings does the most brilliant work bringing so many people together to enjoy theatre - it’s a community in and of itself! The support from West End Outings has been nothing short of incredible and it’s always a very special night when a West End Outings group is in. You just know everyone is there to cheer you on and the joy of so many audience members sharing the experience as one creates the most palpable excitement in the room. No atmosphere like it!”
Rob Madge
West End Palladium Panto star and Author

It’s a fun, inclusive community…

“I've been connected with West End Outings since its inception and as an LGBTQ+ supporter and ally, I always jump at the chance to participate in their events, in any way I can. It's a fun, inclusive community building group that brings together like minded people, celebrating the arts, at affordable prices and their events lead to memorable shared experiences and lasting new friendships. Who could want for more?”

The members of WEO are just a delight…

“JERMYN STREET THEATRE is proud to be one of the theatres that WEST END OUTINGS visit us regularly. The members from WEO are just a delight, and they always have a great time, be it Panto, Musical, or play. Long may our relationship flourish”
Penny Horner
Executive Director & Co-founder of Jermyn Street Theatre, London

We’re proud to support the exceptional experiences…

“West End Outings has been a loyal and valued client of Group Line for the past 4 years. Working with Adam is always a pleasure — he consistently goes above and beyond to secure the very best seats for his groups and approaches every request with enthusiasm and care. Our long-standing partnership has grown into a genuine friendship, and we’re proud to support the exceptional experiences he creates for his customers.”

He knows what makes something work both sides of the curtain…

“As well as running West End Outings, Adam is a theatre maker, so he knows what makes something work on both sides of the curtain. To have a WEO group at your show is a boon: you get a highly discerning and (hopefully) appreciative audience and great feedback. Adam's enterprise in setting up WEO was formidable. His excellence in running it is even more so.”
Richard Stirling
Actor, Writer & West End Producer

Filling the bar with laughter, friendly faces and that shared pre-show excitement…

“Adam already a familiar and welcome face at the bar, started West End Outings with its first event in May 2022 and asked if there might be a space for the group to gather before heading to a show. Since then, it has grown into something really special. We now regularly welcome West End Outings groups before performances, filling the bar with laughter, friendly faces, and that shared pre-show excitement. As an LGBTQ+ bar, it means a great deal to us to offer a space where people feel safe, relaxed and completely themselves. Many of our own customers are now part of the group. Adam is a genuinely lovely person, and that comes through in the community he's built. The group always find fantastic shows and deals and even our team has been lucky enough to enjoy them too. We're incredibly grateful to have seen and been part of the journey and can't wait to see what's coming up next.”

FAQ

Before you book

A few practical things worth knowing, from how booking works to what you actually get that you wouldn’t buying tickets on your own.

If it’s your first time, you will need to create an account to be able to book onto an event.  Once this is complete, simply scroll through our events page and find what events appeal to you. Select the number of tickets, add to basket, and head to checkout. If you’re on a paid membership, any applicable discount will be applied automatically – you don’t need to enter a code.

You’ll receive a confirmation email once your booking is complete.  Further details will then be sent as a reminder the week before the event date

When you book a ticket through a standard ticketing platform, you’re buying a seat. With West End Outings, you’re joining a group. That means a pre-show social at most of our events at a nearby bar or venue, a host to welcome you, and a community of people who are there for the same reason you are.

On the pricing side, all West End Outings events are already priced below standard box office rates – Adam negotiates directly with venues, so the prices on the platform reflect that. Paid members (Single, Joint, and Family) get a further discount on top of that on selected events, applied automatically at checkout. It’s a different proposition entirely from buying a ticket on your own.

New events can go on sale weekly. We’d recommend keeping an eye on the events listing and making sure your marketing preferences are set so you hear about new events when they’re announced.

It depends on your membership tier:

  • Basic: No set limit (subject to availability). Tickets are at the standard WEO price, which is already below box office.
  • Single: One ticket at the additional member discount rate per event.
  • Joint: Up to two tickets at the additional member discount rate per event.
  • Family: Up to five tickets at the additional member discount rate per event.

If you need more discounted tickets than your tier allows, additional tickets can be purchased at the standard WEO price.

Yes. If you’re logged in and your membership tier qualifies for a discount on that event, it’ll be applied at checkout automatically. You don’t need to enter a code or contact anyone.

Most of our events take place at West End theatres across London – from the big names on Shaftesbury Avenue to venues across the South Bank, Covent Garden, and the West End more broadly. Pre-show socials are usually at a bar or pub within easy walking distance of the theatre.

We also run occasional Getaway Trips outside London, with a meeting point at the start of the day and a full itinerary from there. Details of each event, including venue and meeting location, are on the event page.

You won’t be given a specific seat number in advance, but you won’t be guessing either. Where we can, each event listing shows the rows we have on sale, and we add a seating plan so you can see exactly where our block of seats sits in the auditorium. You’ll get your actual ticket at the pre-show social on the day.

No. We book seats together in a block so the whole West End Outings party is seated as one group, rather than dotted around the theatre. It’s part of what makes the outing feel like an outing.

Yes, always. If you book together, we seat you together. You won’t be split up, so there’s no need to worry about ending up rows apart from whoever you’ve come with.

The social is the heart of what West End Outings is about, it’s where you meet the group, settle in and get into the swing of the day before curtain-up, so we always encourage you to come along. If you genuinely can’t make it, that’s fine. Just let us know and we’ll leave your ticket at the box office for you to collect before the show.
